Vitex is a concentrated extract of the *Vitex agnus-castus* fruit, also called chasteberry. Manufacturers standardize it to active compounds such as agnuside and flavonoids. This form gives you more consistent potency and absorption than whole-berry preparations.
People take vitex to support menstrual cycle regularity and ease breast discomfort during PMS. Others use it for hormonal balance, especially when symptoms point to low progesterone or high prolactin levels.
