Peppermint powder is the dried, ground leaves of Mentha × piperita. This form contains less concentrated menthol than the essential oil, making it milder and better suited for internal use in teas or capsules.
Some people take it after meals to relieve occasional indigestion or bloating and to freshen breath. Others mix it into herbal teas or smoothies.
Allergic reactions are possible. Avoid peppermint powder if you have a hiatal hernia or severe acid reflux, since it can worsen symptoms. The powder carries a much lower interaction risk than the oil form.
