Glutenase enzymes chop gluten into smaller fragments. People without celiac disease use it to ease bloating or gas after meals with wheat, barley, or rye. Take a capsule or powder with the first bite of food that contains gluten.
Many products include DPP-IV. This enzyme can block certain diabetes medications like sitagliptin or saxagliptin, making blood sugar control more difficult. Do not use glutenase to manage celiac disease. Talk to your doctor before use if you have a gluten-related disorder or take diabetes medication.
