Chlorophyllin is a water-soluble, semi-synthetic form of chlorophyll. People take it mainly to control body and fecal odors, especially those with ostomies, incontinence, or certain metabolic conditions. It works by binding to odor-causing compounds in the gut.
You can take it as capsules or tablets with a meal, usually one to three times daily. Using it on wounds is outdated and not backed by solid evidence.
Most people tolerate it well. It may cause mild digestive upset or turn urine and stools green. There is no strong evidence that it makes you more sensitive to sunlight.
