Calendula comes from the marigold flower. People use creams and ointments on the skin to calm minor irritations and help the healing process.
Some take calendula by mouth as a tea, tincture, or capsule. They use it to soothe the digestive tract, mouth, and throat.
Apply topical products to the skin as needed. Skip calendula if you have an allergy to ragweed, daisies, or other plants in the Asteraceae family. Allergic reactions can happen.
