Bee pollen extract is a processed concentrate of raw bee pollen. It is usually standardized for certain flavonoids and fatty acids. The extraction step can make it easier to absorb and milder on the stomach than unprocessed pollen grains.
Some people take bee pollen extract for everyday wellness. Traditional use and early data have prompted interest around energy and immune function, but solid human trials are still missing. There is no proven dosing standard.
Serious allergic reactions can occur in anyone sensitive to pollen, bees, or honey. The extract might also interfere with blood thinners like warfarin because it can contain vitamin K. Safety in pregnancy and breastfeeding has not been established.
